Dr. Lis Wagener-Kayser
After studying at the medical faculty of the Albert-Ludwigs University in Freiburg, Germany and gaining practical experience for a year in gynaecology and obstetrics in Baden-Württemberg, Dr. Wagener-Kayser began making plans to establish her own practice. With this in mind, she went to Switzerland and continued her education in Liestal under Dr. med. Brigitte Frey at the Center for Dysplasia of the Vulva and Cervix. At this clinic she gained deep insights into the latest diagnostics and treatment for dysplasia of the cervix and vulva, in addition to thorough education in gynaecology and obstetrics. She also obtained additional qualifications in obstetrics, mammography, and colposcopy at the clinic affiliated to the University Hospital in Basel.
During these 5 years in western Switzerland, Dr. med. Lis Kayser worked with great commitment as an intern in obstetrics and was able to gain a lot of experience in the "central hospital" of the canton of Baselland. Following this internship, she was offered to join the team of gynaecology and obstetrics at the cantonal hospital of Baselland as a senior physician. At the same time, she was asked to take over the practice of Dr. med. Robert Lemmer together with her colleagues Dr. med. Marc Stieber, Dr. Paul Kayser and Dr. Hannes Vetter in Luxembourg. Her deep connection with these colleagues and interest in returning home led to her decision to leave Switzerland in the following months, together with her husband and their three children.
Upon her return Dr. Wagener-Kayser benefited from a warm welcome and helping hands from her former mentors when she opened her surgery. On the one hand, Dr Lemmer, who has since retired, passed on his great experience and fervent enthusiasm, and on the other hand, the fruitful collaboration with colleagues from the CGO group enabled Dr Wagener-Kayser to settle in successfully. While continuing education and training at home and abroad, Dr. med. Lis Wagener-Kayser quickly recognized the need to deepen her knowledge in the field of hormone therapy. Over the course of several weekends, she successfully completed the hormone therapy curriculum from the Frankfurt Hormone School.
